Business cards are a great way to advertise your business to current and potential customers, however they do have limitations. A website can do much more for the advertising of your business.

A well-built website can be the key to success.

Here are my top 5 reasons why a website is better for your business than business cards.

Lack of space on your business card

The lack of space on a business card limits a business owner to the amount of detail which can be included. You will usually end up with a logo, small design and contact details. It is very hard to create something which will stand out to potential customers. A website however, has all the space you need! It also gives you the chance to be unique and stand out in the crowd.

Once you have grabbed the attention of your potential customer, they will be able to obtain a large amount of information about your business, and get a better feel for who they will be dealing with. This builds trust between you and lays the ground work for a good business relationship.

Continual updates and further customer reach

As I said earlier, the size of a business card limits the amount of information you can include. Once they are printed and given out to current and potential customers, no changes can be made and these customers will remember what they have seen. If you change business premises or phone number, you need to have new cards printed. For people who have the original ones, they will be unaware of the changes. With a business website, you have the ability to change this information quickly and as many times as necessary. You are also not limited to the amount of information you can include on a website, and the reach to potential customers is huge in comparison to the use of business cards.

Ability to create promotions on your website

There are many opportunities available to website owners to promote their business. There are both paid and free options too. A websites ability to create promotions is a fantastic way to attract customers, and is something that a business card will not do!

Obtaining customer feedback via your website

Valuable customer feedback on your products/services can be obtained via a business website. Owners need this customer interaction and opinion in order to either continue with what is positive, or change what is negative. This feedback can have a huge impact on the development of a business, whether positive or negative.

Again, this interaction cannot be obtained via a business card!

Creating brand awareness

Due to the ability of a website to reach a huge number of potential customers, the Internet has a massive impact on the development of a business brand.

A website gives you a platform with which you can develop your business and engage with your customers. Again, this is something a business card does not have the ability to do.
